How to build a lemon law claim
- Get a repair order for every visit showing the date, the complaint and the days in the shop. Those records are the core of your case.
- Describe the defect the same way at every visit. If you call it “intermittent stalling” once and “engine hesitation” the next time, it can look like two different problems.
- Most states require a final written notice to the manufacturer, by certified mail, before the presumption applies.
- Even outside your state’s lemon law window, the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act lets you recover attorney fees if you win a warranty claim. That is why many lemon lawyers take these cases without charging you up front.
